Moth Ball Woman, 2014
Acrylic, ink, paper, tape, TV, and stairway with vitrine

The title is a quote from a Bob Dylan poem in his book Tarantula, and it resonated with me—especially as I had just moved to New York and was suddenly confronted with the unexpected challenge of battling moths as part of my new life in the city.

The sound from the animation set the rhythm for climbing the stairs. During the opening, Dalius Naujokaitis, Aaron Keane, and Laima Griciute improvised percussion using wooden sticks, drumming on the stair railing in sync with the animation's beat.
